2520 Interpreted in prophetic versus solar years
What is it that draws witnesses to venerate and not hold their leaders accountable?
The annointed, bethelites, governing body, faithful and discreet slave, they go by many names and intertwine. When confronted about how they can get things wrong, many agree that man is imperfect and make mistakes but they hold onto the fact that these individuals or the body of them are infallible although one little fact proves that they failed.
One issue I deal with is the simple 2520 prophecy. The witnesses gather that it began 607 bc. I am not arguing that but I am arguing how using solar years to getting us to 1914 is apparently not in line with the bible teaching of counting a year as 360 days. The witnesses make an explanation in the 12/15 1964 WT page 759.
"Therefore, the 2,520 days of the “seven times” would be 2,520 years in fulfillment. These years, in their fulfillment, would not be merely 360 days each, but full calendar years as we count them. For we must remember that the variation of the Jewish calendar was to adjust the lunar year to harmonize with the solar year. It could be termed a “soli-lunar” or “bound lunar” year. Days, or months, were inserted at intervals to make up the difference of approximately eleven days between the lunar and the solar year. By this means the seasons always fell in their proper place in the calendar. So their calendar would be almost exactly in line with the currently used Gregorian calendar. So the 2,520 years are to be counted as solar years."
In short what the above paragraph brings to light is that although the bible says to count a year as 360 days, we (wtbts) want you to count it as 365.25 days.
This is a lie.
They are adding to something that is rather simple. The bible prophesy was simple in counting because it used a day. One day, one night, full 24 hour period. It doesn't make sense to do what they are doing because there is no telling how a year would have been accepted in the coming ages. But days do not change. We can count days no matter how the year as a whole is changed. Like counting ounces versus lbs. The total amount doesn't change. The way it is expressed does. The watchtower is attempting to change the amount.
Most witnesses would rather take a "leap of faith" on this organization than faith in the bible or rather truths supported by scripture. Sadly some attempt to believe they can do both. They really don't do both if they are not willing to say goodbye to the organization. It helps only to a degree but then has to be looked at as a human group of individuals that could ultimately not be good for your spirituallity. This organization will not save their lives but many think that it will.

Christ and the upside down pyramid
A friend asked me a question concerning God and science. I explained what I thought but began thinking about a related but similar subject and wanted to expand on it here.
I was explaining that Satan seems to not be "real" to anyone. He is a factor that often times is not included into life. No one seems to notice the "devil in the details".
I described him as "He is like a raincloud that never gives rain but just successfully hides the sun all day. We know God or something is behind the clouds lighting up the sky. We just can't see it so we question the light."
Got me to thinking about how the pyramid on the back of a dollar is set up. Look at the pyramid symbol on the back of a dollar bill. Famous Masonic symbol of an eye on an incomplete pyramid. Perfect example of Satan's system of operation.It is top down. The top rest on the backs of the masses. The top survives because the bottom gives of themselves to the top portion or the leaders or ultimately Satan. In times of crisis where people die, chances are its the bottom that dies. Not for the good of everyone but for the good of the elite or the top of the pyramid. Gives new meaning for dieing for your country. A lot of the times the top of the pyramid is behind both sides of conflict thus death of the masses is an expected consequence. Same with today I believe the top knows of how the world is over extending itself so will sacrifice the masses to survive. Having positioned themselves in places of policy making or controlling, they will direct the world to a place where there power will remain manifest. So most of humanity will die.
Kind of bleak. I contrast the above with this. Take the pyramid and turn it upside down. This is the inverted pyramid. Now we have the masses at the top being supported by the point at the bottom. The bottom of course is Jesus Christ our lord. He has more than enough strength to uphold all of us. The concept seems foreign and like it may not work. We find more examples in life of the prior pyramid than this one. Because the inverted pyramid leads to obscurity not prominence. Let me explain. Say there was some bill in congress that was going to pass that was going to disenfranchise a subset of society and a congress person decided to give there career to making sure it would not pass. The bill does not pass and so success right? Well in a way. The people are benefited but the congress person's career is shot and he is financially broke. That next year another bill is introduced that kills those rights anyway. So the benefits to the inverted pyramid are completely spiritual but obscure in Satan's system. The benefits to the regular pyramid is prominence. We already know how this works. Its also very easy to switch from one to the other as well. Because it becomes a spiritual/fleshly way of thinking. Being in management I have had to deal with an interesting concept in employment. Would I be willing to lose my management position for a subordinate? I am hardwired as an inverted pyramid but in order to make a living I have to incorporate some of the standards of traditional "pyramidology" so to speak. I have to say that they will lose their job before I lose mine no matter their circumstances. The job has got to get done. So Satan has designed quite an elaborate system that actually makes inverted pyramid(spiritual, self sacrificing) thinking stupid and worthless in his world. So most will choose to go with the flow. Its beneficial in making a good living instead of scraping along.
Lets take this a little further and observe the old testament sacrifices. It was an inverted pyramid system. The Levites seem to be the at the top of pyramid but actually they did the very hard work of preparing the animal sacrifices and were in essence slaves working for the good of the nation. Their lives were sacrificed to this. There were so many animal sacrifices for their sins all the time. Animals were only temporary sin atonement but due to the inverted pyramid style of living, it qualified for that atonement. So to speak, in a family you have animals that give clothing, milk, companionship. If you sacrifice that, you lose the benefits of that animal. You have sacrificed it to God.
This is what makes Jesus so special. He is mankind's perpetual sacrifice. Forever has his blood been offered for our salvation. We tap into that by thinking in this selfless sacrificial manner. That is in an inverted pyramid fashion.
Again thinking in this fashion in this world will not lead to prominence it will lead to obscurity but favor with God. Also you will not make history. History reflects the prominence of these pyramids not the obscure. You don't make history being humble. Jesus was the last to be known world-wide for the ultimate act of humility and rightly so.
Recognizing how Satan has his system set up will help you readily recognize when he is at work because it will follow the top down system. Think about all the systems, organization, principles, rules, and people that seem to fall into this form of thinking and action. Doesn't mean its Satanic. It may just mean that it won't help you in following the road that leads to the mind of Christ which goes in the opposite direction. Christ and Satan are diametrically apposed. Satan has created a world which, by its very nature, hides the humble path because it hates it. If you follow the path to Christ you will be deemed unimportant and will be forgotten by Satan's world. God though will remember the sacrifices you made to him.

Within the Context of the Watchtower
I turned in my letter to consciously disassociate myself from the Watchtower a few weeks ago. I was officially disassociated on 4/24/08.
I now exist outside the context of the Watchtower Organization.
The definition of context is this:

Being within the organization is like being wrapped in a blanket the happens to supply all you need for survival. Witnesses have described the "Worg - Watchtower Organization" as being like an Ark that was prepared to carry us through the last days.
This ark is leaking severely and no one inside knows because the context of the Worg is still the same or has only been slightly adjusted.
If we were to describe this as boat, lets say that the deck where everyone is standing is what the governing body is keeping primarily in tact. They patch up old holes and make certain planks stronger by their new light. Now the hull of the boat is taking on water and falling apart this is what has kept the Worg floating along for so long but now the economic times is starting to get ruff and the boat is beginning to sink. The Worg I believe cannot just find clearer water, their doctrine or hull was not built to last this long and the boat is going down.
The individuals on the deck see the storm. They feel the rain. They even see other boats floating in the water but feel that their captain, Jesus, has kept them safe and will ultimately save them as a group on this tattered boat. What they don't realize is that the captain of their boat is just a man with a keen ability to make his passengers think the boat is solidly in tact.
The rank and file or passengers are not allowed to go below deck because it is for their protection (we are told not to look into old publications. Worg doesn't make these publications available). We are told not to try to communicate with other boats. (don't read non accepted books or go on the Internet.) We are even told that there are those among the passengers that we should avoid because of being bad associations. (I believe these are the passengers closest to the edge of the boat that happens to notice, "hey we are sinking, the captains been lying to us"). There may even be certain passengers that will push these over if they are hanging too far and gathering too much info.
The Worg pulls in people that are floating in the water. They have usually jumped off of another sinking ship and come aboard the Worg trying to figure out why the people on it seem to be oblivious to the coming devastation.
I have purposely jumped off of the Worg and I am currently floating in the drink. I am satisfied at this point of where I am because I see a larger context. I see that what is coming upon this world is coming upon the whole sea. The boats, the water, the land, the people in the water, the people on the boats. The boat won't help me. No boat will. My faith is purely in Jesus and he will save me if he so chooses.

Surfing the Net
The internet is serving as a hidden treasure of information for Jehovah's Witnesses attempting to find some outside information.
There is a caution though that cannot be pushed aside.
There are elements and people that seek to devour your faith. They seek to turn you from the truth (real truth). They seek to captivate your spirit. Your emotions. Your life. They will throw you away once they have a chance.
Use the net to help you think for yourselves. It can be liberating to find some article that expands on nagging suspicions you may have had. It is not wrong to question your beliefs. Once you stop asking questions you become exactly what the people in control want you to become. Sheep.
DO NOT LET the immense amount of PORN that plagues this medium get you off track. It is placed there for you to forget a proper path to knowlege. Why do you think there is so much money to be made in it?
DO NOT LET the immense amount of mp3's and music videos turn this medium into a big Ipod. It just does the same thing and will distract from the people who are posting the truth from the other side of the glass.
So if you search, search for knowlege like it is for gold.
We are at the beginnings of a momentus time in human existance. Politicians will betray us, coorporations will betray us, Religions will betray us, our money will betray us, and our families will betray us. Even our eyes can betray us but only as far as our minds are betrayed. The time is now to learn.

Incorporating Your Christian Relationship
My leaving the Watchtower has been a lonely process. All of my other family members are devout witnesses including my wife. So my discovery and my spiritual strength comes directly from God.
The key for me is building a personal relationship with Jesus. Now many Jdubs would argue that I could have done this inside the organization. I do not agree. For the fact that our time is portioned out to so many other aspects of worship. In fact it is quite insidious how this occurs. We are in fact doing all we can to build a relationship with an organization/corporation (through hour tally and study of books other than the bible) not God personally. If we were building it with God, then the personal bible studies would 1. Focus more on how holy spirit can finish your training in the bible. Right now the goal is to get an interested person away from dissenters and establish them friends and associates that will continue the indoctrination to fulfillment which is isolation from any information in disagreement with Jdub theology. Most if not all rank and file Jdubs will not see this.
Jdubs do not follow a "man" or do they? Corporations are one of the worst forms of human development in my opinion. A group of men can create this "being" that can affect other peoples daily lives whether that be as a source of employment, source of information, source of protection, or source of religious direction. It can act as a man. The origins of corporations are from early Roman times. Right now corporations are at their most powerful as far as having an impact on the average human life. The Watchtower's structure is based off of this model. Humans in a sense can build their own little mountains and make them big enough to touch the heavens themselves.
Can we have a personal relationship with this abomination? No. If we are attempting to, then we are striving after the wind. Corporations are designed by men in the beginning and then tweaked during its lifetime to fulfill the purposes of its leaders. The mistake was allowing any religious organization or church to incorporate. Unfortunately what often happens is the church gains access and benefits through the corporation but the corporation soon becomes the church.
Jdubs mention that incorporating is just a tool to accomplish their work. Since God backs this work and he would even make the stones speak, what would happen if we were to drop this man made tool? Is it even thinkable to eliminate the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society as our tool? If you find it hard to fathom, then you may be in the worship of mankind's biggest golden calf.

Save the JDubs Campaign
I love my brothers in the truth. They just have a lot to contend with though. It's the leaders that have let the lies continue to mislead 6+million people to date.
It would be easier for these brothers and sisters to come out if they knew there was a support group. There are groups but the last thing that they need is another system of religion. That is unfortunately what many look for if they were faced with leaving.
When most ex-JDubs leave they have to own their personal theology which can vary from person to person. The most interesting to me are the ones to which have had no exposure from any other christian religions. I applaud them for taking a real leap of faith.
All JDubs need the help of loving christians that will help them find the true meaning and Power of Christ. Ex-JDubs have instantly 3 strikes against them when they leave the Watchtower. They are shunned as a supposed protection for the congregation. This makes it difficult even to share views and reasoning with our closest counterparts like wives, husbands, parents, syblings.
If any christians wants to help or at least learn how to hold a progressive conversation with a Witness, please focus on giving this person a friend outside of the watchtower. This point of view is a new one and one that will not be expected by a Jehovah's Witness. Once there are a few responses like this, they may begin to start to use there own thinking power to pull themselves free. JDubs can think on their own. They just need to be shown the love and acceptance offered from Christ instead of the alienation and overt discipline shown by an unfeeling organization.
